This Preparatory action aims at preparing future EU actions in the field of sport and the special annual events, on the basis of priorities set in the White Paper on Sport. The European Commission will fund transnational projects proposed by public bodies or civil society organisations in order to identify and test suitable networks and good practices in the field of sport.

The objectives are to:
a) prevention of and fight against violence and intolerance in sport;
b) promoting innovative approaches to strengthen the organisation of sport in Europe.

Budget and duration:
The total budget available is EUR 2 million.

EU co-financing will be provided to a maximum of 80% of the total costs.
Staff costs may not exceed 50 % of the total eligible costs. The project must begin between 1 December 2011 and 31 March 2012 and end no later than 30 June 2013.

Eligible applicants:
• Public bodies;
• Not-for-profit organisations.

Applicants must:
• have their head office in one of the Member States of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom);
• have a legal status.
Individual persons may not submit applications under this call for proposals
